Commercial Revitalization Program
Mexicantown Community Development Corporation (MCDC) is the lead partner working with Bagley Housing Association (BHA) and Southwest Housing Solutions in this commercial revitalization project for the Mexicantown restaurant, retail, and cultural district. MHC has its own board, mission and priorities. The initiative organizes businesses, residents and other area stakeholders to make improvements to Mexicantown's commercial areas on Bagley and West Vernor. Work is organized around the following principles:
- Clean and Safe;
- Design;
- Economic Restructuring;
- Promotion.
MHC has been designated as a District by the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization (ONCR) Re$tore Detroit! Program. This program focuses on a comprehensive grassroots approach to revitalizing Bagley Avenue from 16th to 24th Street, and W. Vernor Highway from 18th to Clark Street.
